Pet Wellness Services
Ongoing care is so important for your pet.
Pet Examinations
We want to be your partner in your pet’s care. Like any relationship, communication is important, and we hope you find value in your pet’s annual exams and check-ups. Bringing your pet to Lake Country Veterinary Care for physical examinations is crucial to his or her health. We offer thorough physical examinations so that we can detect any potential problems before they become major problems. There are many pet health problems that can be avoided through regular physical exams, which is why we recommend at least one physical exam yearly. For our young, healthy patients we recommend a wellness exam every 12 months and for geriatric patients, or those with chronic conditions, we recommend a physical exam every 6 months. While physical exams are critical to animal health, you can do your part too by being a vigilant pet owner. If you notice any irregularities with your pet, take detailed notes and bring him or her to Lake Country Veterinary Care for an examination.
Pet Routine Diagnostics
Routine and advanced diagnostics are important tools that help us to identify underlying disease processes early and to determine more urgent problems quickly. At Lake Country, we offer full in-house blood work and urinalysis in addition we offer send out blood work for more complicated cases to our external laboratories. We also offer multiple imaging options, including digital radiographs and ultrasound capabilities, with the option to send for interpretation with boarded specialists.
Pet Vaccinations
Many of the diseases that can affect dogs and cats are preventable through proper pet vaccinations. Starting your pet on the right schedule early is one of the keys to a long and healthy life. We follow AAHA and AAFP guidelines regarding our vaccine recommendations, and we utilize vaccines that are manufactured at 50% less volume than other manufactured vaccines but with the same efficacy you trust. Vaccine schedules are individualized for each pet’s needs, please feel free to speak to our veterinarians to discuss which vaccines are right for your family pet.
Pet Preventative Care
At Lake Country Veterinary Care, we believe that it is much easier to prevent diseases than it is to treat them. We also believe that every patient is an individual and has a unique set of circumstances that may inform us in what their specific preventative care needs might be. Factors that we may consider include breed, age, lifestyle, health status, diet, reproductive status, and even the accompanying human preference. We believe that medicine is not a “one size fits all” practice. As such, each patient will receive a tailored approach to best meet his or her preventative care needs.
We take a team oriented approach, aiming to educate and empower you, our clients, to make the most educated decisions regarding your pets’ care based on a variety of factors.
