The new owner is building upon the reputation of quality care by incorporating modern services and technology. Duties Include:
● Emphasizing high-quality care through exceptional client communication and education
● Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
● Ability to work and communicate well with other team members
● Proficiency in venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
● Ability to assist with wellness and sick examinations (e.g., history taking, administer oral and injectable medications and immunizations)
● Knowledge of frequently used medications and preventives
● Knowledge of imaging and proper placement techniques
● Experience or willingness to use in-house laboratory equipment
● Experience or willingness to learn anesthetic monitoring, obtaining dental radiographs, and performing laser therapy
Applicant Qualifications:
Experience: 1+ years veterinary technician experience
Education: Associates (minimum)
Licensure: Valid NYS Veterinary Technician License
Expected Hiring Date: 2 to 4 weeks

Job Description
Lake Country Veterinary Care is looking for an individual willing to join our team to help assist in daily activities within the clinic. The duties of a veterinary assistant/hospital attendant are an integral role in providing quality care for our patients and communication with our clients. An individual must be a team player, capable of working cooperatively with other staff members and compassionately with pets.
Duties Include:
● Clean cages and bathe animals
● Sterilize equipment and clean examination tables and rooms
● Assist with opening and closing duties; including stocking of all exam rooms,
treatment area, and surgery
● Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations
● Soothe upset or frightened animals
● Help in cases of emergencies
● Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments
● Keep accurate records and logs
Skills:
● Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant or similar position working with animals
● Excellent communication skills
● Patient and caring personality
● Ability to follow instructions properly
● Comfortable being around animals (primarily cats and dogs)
● Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (e.g. lift up to 40 lbs)
● Availability to occasionally work in emergencies

Experience: 1+ years animal-related experience (preferred)
Education: High school diploma (minimum)
Certification: Certificate from a Veterinary Assistant program is a plus, but not required
